A Beautiful Reverie

I am lying beneath the sky, sauntering on the clouds of heaven; trying to think of the moments that fill my heart with immense joy. There’re no stars, and the moon is missing. The leaves shiver, and the rain drops fall on my face. So beautiful, so serene the feeling is. I dream with my open eyes…

One day, with the first ray of the rising sun, I will embrace all the happiness blooming in the universe.

I stand in front of the mirror, look at myself- see my face glow like pearls; eyes, bright and twinkling, looking forward to step into a new world. I saunter into my parent’s room, give them a tight hug and see tears rolling down their cheeks. I wipe their tears, smile and say, “I love u. Thank you so much”.

I take a walk on the beach. Bare feet. Walking on wet sand is the best natural treatment for pedicure. I read that in a magazine. I look at the horizon and change my mind of becoming a sailor, for I’ve found and got everything I’ve always dreamt of.

I see people walking in and out of my house, singing and dancing. They look at me, but I cannot hide the happiness I feel… and my red cheeks. I’m blushing ! I’m celebrating today. This is the celebration of my new life.

I dive into a vanilla honey bath to rejuvenate my senses. I came across it on the net. It relaxes one’s body and makes the body silky smooth. I want to pamper myself. My eyes ‘pop out’ with the first glance at my dressing table. That’s a Christian Dior make-up kit ! I smoothly brush my cheeks with the pearl pink blush-on. My long wavy hair is tied into a plait, decorated with pearls and gems. With the last touch of gloss on my lips- Glamorous ! I can give the queen of Indian beauty- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a run for her money. I turn around to wear my dress. What is that ! I see a Ritu Kumar’s designer ‘ghaghra-choli’- a beautiful chiffon and georgette dress with heavy gold embroidery. I step into it, wear the heavy ornaments and take a last look at myself. Oh my God ! I’ll look absolutely stunning on the Asian Brides cover page !

I walk into the garden, decorated with red zarberas and carnations, and crowded with guests so beautifully dressed. In the beauty of the night, beside the holy fire, awaits my love. My knees feel so weak; my heart is beats so fast. I’m nervous…

I sit down next to him. Together we take the solemn oath- to stand by each other, in sickness and in health, in happiness and in poverty, pay due respect to our parents and keep each other happy. The moment the ceremony finished, the feeling I endorsed was so blissful. But there was something that was missing. I always wanted somebody to say the “magical words, just like those in Hollywood movies. I look at Him with all the love in my eyes and with the biggest smile, I whisper the “magical words” in his ears, “You may kiss the bride”.

Perfect !

This is where I end, and this is my dream…
